Hola. I briefly edited here anonymously, but decided to create an account. I was going to just call myself ‘Rottweiler,’ but that name was already taken, so I added a French article because I like French. My previous work includes volunteering for Wikcionario, el diccionario libre, and I’ve been an administrator there since November 1st, 2013. You can keep track of my activity here (I use a different pseudonym on that project).
I focus on the Quake I trilogy, since those are easily my favourite Quake games. I’m something of a new convert, having owned them since ∼2007, and only since 2015 have I rebecome interested in them. I was just a pup when these games were originally released (admittedly).
I’m actually more interested in the singleplayer campaigns. The multiplayer aspect (deathmatch) never deeply interested me, although I love to play these games in coöperative mode with somebody. Would you like to join me?
Aside from linguistics and video games, my hobbies include barking, running, biting, and being shot at.
I have a personal preference for complicated terminology, but lately I’m attempting to avoid showing it in my mainspace work. This is to keep our entries more facile to read.
I’m allergic to canines. Ironic, no?
My current image is inspired from this album cover: [1]
- Favourite arm: the Thunderbolt.
- Favourite enemy: the Rottweiler.
- Favourite level: the Nameless City.
My hypotheses
Quake I has four Earth levels (five if we include a multiplayer one). It is not certain where exactly they are, but we do have a few clues. For starters, they have grassy areas, so they can’t be in a desert (as in Half‐Life). The game contains EXIT signs, which is certainly an English word, the Enforcers all speak English, and their accents sound American, so I think that the safest bet is that the levels are based in the United States of America. There exists, however, some strange text on some walls that is difficult to decipher. The most probable hypothesis that I have is that they are using products manufactured by unknown foreign countries.
The Dragon in window01_1 is (probably) based on this Dragon.
